Terje Lund, b Sept 16 1944, Bachelor of Civil Engineering,  studied civil engineering at Sunderland Polytechnic, England, UK 1965-69 (now Sunderland University) and Seattle University, Washington, USA 1971-72. He gained a broad experience in the civil engineering profession through work with consulting companies in Norway and the US, ranging from road design and surveying to marina design and soil stabilization  with underground explosives in seismic areas. He has further international experience with his work for the Norwegian Agency for Development and Cooperation (NORAD) in Africa; Tanzania and Botswana where he was engaged in the planning and construction of  road infrastructure. He has also worked with planning and progress control of the construction of North Sea oil rigs. 

His main specialization has been in the construction part of military defence planning pertaining to the NATO Security Investment  Programme. Through his 25 years of service with  the Norwegian Defence Construction Service as Senior Engineer and Project Manager - in close cooperation with NATO International Staff, SHAPE* and the Norwegian Ministry of Defence -  he was in charge of the planning and implementation  of a number of major NATO financed defence installations; war head quarters, combat operation centres, control and reporting centres  and a number of radar stations. He served on the National Programme Board of Air Command and Control from 1992 to 2005 and in 2003 acted as advisor to the Military Science Committee.

 Terje Lund retired from his government service in 2005 and registered his consultant company Calculo the same year.

Terje Lund is accredited  "Sivilingeniør " in Norway and is a Member of the Norwegian  Society of Chartered Technical and Scientific Professionals.

Military Service: Terje Lund served with the Norwegian Engineering Corps, mainly in the North of Norway in 1964. He was later transferred to the Norwegian Home Guard where he took part in yearly exercises commanding mortar groups before he was appointed Platoon Commander and Instructor of demolition units. He retired from conscripted military service as First Lieutenant in 1999. He was later on call for service in his position as Senior Engineer in the Norwegian Defence Construction Service. 

Avocation: Terje Lund is a black belt judo veteran. He started practicing judo and jiu-jitsu in 1957. He was a cofounder of Norsk Judo og Jiu-Jitsu Klubb in 1960 - the very first martial arts club in Norway. In the periods 1977 to 1979 and 1982 to 1991 he held the position of Chairman. He was awarded Honorary Membership in 2010 - the club's 50th anniversary. As an elected accountant Terje Lund is still involved in the club's administration.
